Prognathism

Prognathism (from the ancient Greek πρό, pro, «in front» and γνάθος, gnàthos, «jaw», literally «jaw forward»), indicates the situation in which the maxillary bone protrudes compared to the mandible. The opposite condition, in which the mandible protrudes compared to the maxillary bone, is defined as progenism.
